Allyson...I believe that you can hear the heartbeat easrlier when you do it through ultrasound. It is poss for you to hear the heartbeat at that time. The ultrasound measurements will tell the Dr how far along you probably are. When you go to your next Dr appt the Dr MIGHT change the date. But, keep in mind that babies are all different sizes and the difference in due dates is only 2 weeks. When there is only a 2 week difference most of the Dr's don't really worry about that because a due date is mostly a guess anyway. You can almost garantee that you will have that baby within those two weeks anyway....
Good luck! ↑ |
Id beleive the sono tech. They go by the size of the baby.. ↑ |
Well I know for one that you can hear the heart beat in different cases before 12 weeks. I heard a heart beat at 10 weeks. Your Doctor shouldn't be telling you definitive things like that. Everyone's pregnancy is different.
As for your due date, hopefully they figure it out for you but even if you're never too sure...is it really that big of a deal? The baby is coming either way. hehe ↑ |
They should be able to tell you through your ultrasound how far along you are. But its kinda scary that your Dr's are this confused. ↑ |
i know it is scary that they are so confused.... the doc says by the feel of my uterus i am 12 weeks she gave ,e the due date of june 16th but my bestfriend is 13 weeks almost 14 weeks and her due date is june 24th... so i dunno they confuse me i guess i'll go by the sono techs due date n plan everything around that... thanx everyone! ↑ |
i was told to go by the person who did the ultrasound, that's what they are trained to do and my midwife goes by the ultrasound not the doc ↑ |
I started out at one clinic and they gave me an ultrasound due date of April 4, then because of insurance purposes I changed clinics and they wanted to confirm their own due date (I can't remember my last menstrual period) so I had another ultrasound and they gave me a due date of April 9th. So.....they are not too far apart but Im still iffy about my due date ↑ |
