With my first pregnancy it never dawn on me that I might just get stretch marks I did fear not being able to lose the baby fat. I was so upset when I lifted up my shirt and saw that I had a few stretch marks on my belly. I actually went out and purchase Palmer's Coca Butter Formula Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks. I used it daily and never got another stretch mark and then ones that I did have actually lighten up.

With my first I didn't think a thing about any of that. I got lots of stretch marks and ended up gaining about 80 pounds. Which I only ended up losing less than half. With my second I didn't go out of my way to watch my weight. Trust me I porked out on some crazy stuff. I only ended up gaining 23 pounds total! The dr said I was one of the lucky ones..I thought "yeah, why couldn't I have been "lucky" when I was 5'10 145!" hehe. Anyhow, having a baby is not easy on your body and as a woman that is just something you have to deal with. By the way I have ended up smaller than what I started with and I am only 3 weeks PP.

I felt the same way when I got pregnant. I have always been really into fitness though and so I studied a lot about fitness and pregnancy. I endedremaining very active through my first pregnancy and gained a healthy 33 pounds. I lost it all just by working out 3-4 times a week (sometimes it is just going walking) plus making better food choices and went back to my Senior in high school weight! I was ecstatic and felt great. Now I am 17 weeks pregnant and still teaching aerobics and I am feeling good and my baby is moving daily so it seems good too. The key to the weight gain thing is to not listen when people say to eat whatever you want, but be in control (not dieting!), but eating heathy things. Remember if you are at a normal weight you don't want to gain more than 25-35 pounds, although if you are underweight more is normal or if you are overweight less is normal. Even with my slim pp body I still got a littel down when I looked at my stretch marks, but there are super cute styles out there that don't show the stomach. I cocoa-buttered myself all the way through and still got stretch marks, I think its more genetic so find out what happened with your mom, maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones!
