I am not doing anything for Kaden. He is only 15 months old and he doesn't get candy or chocolate. There is really nothing he needs and he won't know the difference. I'm trying to get rid of all the crap in my house, not truck more in haha.

I haven't had an easter egg since i was 10 years old. My father died the day before good friday nearly 8 years ago...and easter is always a hard time for us.

I have never bought the twins anything chocolatey either....im very pro-healthy eating. To be fair I don't think they need anything...maybe next year when they are 3 1/2 easter bunny will visit....but right now, nope we are moving soon and have enough crap...and I don't want to fed them uneccessary chocolate.

My baby is only 3 mos so she won't be getting owt either. What's all this with easter baskets? In England we kinda just give chocolate eggs really? Or lil tiny toy chicks/bunnies etc?

lol, randi i hear you thats why I only got emilee what she needed, well she didn't need the m&m's but if i didn't get her some kind of treat she'd be hitting the other kids up for a bite of what they've got....as she often does, lol!!!

hmmmm, seems maybe i did go overboard...errr perhaps it was the being able to shop and enjoy it w/ no kids, lol. Before you guys think that i used easter as x-mas....i just bought stuff i was going to buy for the summer anyway, instead of sticking a bunch of things in there they don't use or don't need, and then buying this stuff as well. I like the fact that I got all the stuff for the boat for easter because the lake is free entertainment on the weekends for them......w/ 5 kids free is always good!!!!

lol rosey!! that's what i pointed out! lol...same here too..Americans seem to celebrate things way more than we do...Halloween for instance is so small scale in england....in america it seems so...idk the right word...exciting. lol

lol, i hate halloween

and that was my point of the post i wanted to see how each of you celebrate the holiday?!?!?

I don't just go out and buy my kids everything they point at, i make them wait for special occasions or allow then to use their own money if it's something they really want, so I see no harm in doing things a little bit bigger once in a while.

I'll get him an outfit and take pics. No candy though, he's too young.

But in my house it was a nice dress for Easter Sunday and a egg hunt. Fun!!!

This year Kadin and his cousin are going to get together to dye easter eggs, every other year we've used plastic ones, but this year we're coloring them, then we will go to my moms house easter morning with my brother and sister and their families and we'll have an easter breakfast and then the kids, Kadin and Taylor, 4 and Mason, 1 will do an easter egg hunt. For Kadins basket, I got him a barrel of bunnies (like barrel of monkey's), crayons and paper, a stuffed bunny and he might get a movie (101 dalmations or something) and instead of candy I will give him a couple bags of fruit snacks. We don't go over board on his easter basket, it's more about spending the day with family and the kids having fun looking for the eggs the easter bunny hides.

oh i wsn't being rude m25...

Here....it's not really as (I CANT THINK OF THE WORD!!) ...we don't buy outfits etc and dress kiddos up for easter...we dont have baskets...here we just buy an egg or two and claim its from easter bunny, maybe buy a soft toy chick or rabbit...but then its over.

oh i know nicolaa!!!!!

i think i just gave the impression that we spoil the kids and don't get the meaning of the whole holiday!!!

we don't always do that, like i said i may have done a wee bit to much shopping, as i was enjoying doing so w/ no children!! Also I was going to buy these things for ths summer anyway and what better time to do so.

We got Gabriella a Dora tricyle and a little candy. We wanted to get her a bike anyway, so we thought she may as well have it for Easter. As she gets older and starts to remember what she receives for Easter we won't be buying her such big gifts. When I was growing up, I usually got a basket of candy, an outfit for Easter Sunday and a toy of some sorts. My favourite I remember was a skip-it. Remember those?! Every holiday seems so busy for us, travel wise. Good Friday we have to go to my husband's family, Saturday my dad's family, and Sunday my mom's family. Ahhhh the price you pay for divorced parents! Oh well I love getting together with our families.
