i gave birth to a 7lb 1 & half ozs baby girl on tuesday,(27/02/07), i was 4 days overdue,, i was getting cotnractions every 10 mins from nine am , i went to hospital at 4pm & was told i was 3cm, dialated, i went home still getting contractions ,by 7pm they were every 6 mins, but i could cope with the pain, then i went to half asleep,so they slowed down & they came every 15mins .At 11pm, i woke up in pain as they came every 5mins & were hurting really bad., i went to hosp, contractions getting harder & stronger ,it was pure agony, then at 1am it went slower, & i nearly went to sleep. so they broke my waters ,then i was 5cm ,then 8cm, i had gas & air & pethidine, that hurt when they injected it in the front of the top of my thigh, id advise to have it injected in ur bum.,, then at 3am i started to push, i delievered her at 3.47am, i had 2 stiches, they hurt & the placenta hurt coming out, alot,i, but she is gorgeous, i still cant believe ive had her, good luck to u all,, ↓

| I don't know, but I do not think that many american hospitals have gas as an option. I know that they have that in the UK and in aussie ↑ |

| neither did I , but I have done this once before. I think birth plans are more for people who want to go natural w/ no drugs and very little intervention. I want to hold out for as long a poss so taht I can walk the halls or take a shower, but once the pain gets unbareable then I am getting the epidural. My only advice to you is to stay verticle for as long as you can so that gravity helps to move the baby down. ↑ |

| im gonna do the classes... with my mom lol cuz my hubby isnt here, which sucks but my mom was all excited to go so i have to wait for the paper to come in the mail to see when the classes start ↑ |
