hey mamal i haven't seen you on for awhile put i've got some bf qestions and i thought you might know the answers....
1-cole has started sleeping a 5 hour strech at night and the only eating every 3 hours during the day. he is almost 7wks. is he eating enough? see this is new to me 'cause gracie always wanted to nurse every 1 or 2 hours around the clock until she was almost 6months old.
2-this is kinda embarrassing but one of my breast has always been slightly bigger than the other. well ever sinse my milk came in it's gotten to be like a whole cup size differnt. he always nurse off of both boobs and i always try to make sure he starts with which ever boob he ended on the last feeding. do you have any idea why this is happening or if there is anything i can do about? or will one side always be an Fcup and the other one an E?

help! lol

Don't be embarrassed! Most women's breasts are different sizes. They may go back to your "normal" size once you stop bf, but more than likely they will always be different sizes. If it is that big of a problem for you (which is understandable) I think playtex makes a bra with two different cup sizes. I know someone does. They also have cup inserts if you feel other people can tell they are different sizes. You could use just one on the smaller size. More than likely no one knows but you. One of mine is a bit smaller than the other, and my hubby said he never would have known had I not said anything about it. I don't know about the first question, as I'm still pregnant, but from what I understand....as long as he is going to the bathroom enough he is fine.

1~ Cole sounds perfect. You have one great guy there giving you all that time. As long as he is giving you wet and dirty (but don't forget some bfed babies don't poop that often) diapers he is just fine. I would not worry as long as you continue to feed on demand. Here in about 5 weeks you should see an increase, growth spurt time. Enjoy the extra time and sleep!
2~ It is funny you ask because I have just spoken with a very good friend who is going through the same thing. Basically there isn't much you can do. As you said this is how your breasts normally are just exageratted. The only way to try and combat it is to pump more on the little side so that you can increase milk production but don't neglect your regular side. Here is an article about "lopsided breasts".

thanks, i thought that he seemed to be doing well but you know sometimes moms worry.

i was also wondering...do you know how many calories you have to have a day when breastfeeding? i went to kellymom.com and it said that the minimum is 1800. do you know if thats the lowest you can go?

wow that website really did make me feel better! i think that my breast are awfull, i always have. i developed really early, i was a 36C in the 4th grade!! so i also started to sag early too. plus i was really over weight as a teenage and then lost all of my weight really quickly, now i've had 3 kids and in the past 4 years, so my weight has really went up and down, up and down quite extremely over the past 6 years now. my husband always said i had great breasts, but i always thought, how could he say that? look at them. but i realize now that i was comparing them with the ones in mags and movies and not with ones in real life. i know, i'm sounding like some sort of sappy infomercial or a LMN movie, but that website really did help me see that my breasts aren't so bad.

I know exactly what you mean. I never thought my breasts were horrible (yes I enjoyed Mardi Gras) but I never thought they were wonderful either, that site kinda puts it all in prospective and makes you feel better or at least normal.

RE your diet. Don't worry. Are you trying to lose weight or just keep up with what you are 'suppose' to do? No matter what your diet breastmilk is always superior to formula so don't think that if you don't get enough your baby is recieving less, that is a falicy. Here's a link to an article about that.

Also
if you are trying to lose weight Weight Watchers offers a great program for nursing mothers. Of course you know I have another link for you. There are definitely safe ways to lose weight.

If
you are not out to diet just follow your hungry ques this usually is the best way, no need to count calories. I am so glad that things are going so well.

mamal you are so helpful lol
yeah i'm wanting to lose weight.about 75lbs....i started on tuesday eating 1800 cal. a day and working out to the biggest loser dvd 4 times a weeks, and walking a mile everyday. but with eating the 1800 cal i feel like all i'm doing is eating...cause i'm only eating healthy stuff so it takes ALOT to get the 1800 in. but now that kellymom web site says between 1500-1800 so i might take it down to 1500 gradualy over the next weeks or so.

thanks for the help!
