WOW! thats soo neat! its something they are going to have for ever!

all i know is that if it has spindals (sp) they cant move. I guess just measure a regular crib.

One thing that i do know is my crib and the one at my moms house are different, Tyler can fit his leg through ours and get his knee stuck, and at my moms he cant

The site I found this on is posted in your thread at SAHM.

# At least 26 inches between raised crib rails and the top of the crib mattress.

# At least 9 inches between lowered crib rails and the top of the crib mattress.

# If legs have wheels, at least 2 wheels must have brakes.

# No decorative cutouts in headboard or footboard.

# Slats must be less than 2 and 3/8 inches apart.

# End panels must extend below mattress when mattress is at lowest position.

# Crib must be sturdy, not wobbly, when you try to shake it.

# Although double drop-sides are convenient, a single drop-side is more stable.

# Metal mattress supports are stronger than wood supports (important for withstanding a jumping toddler!)

# Mattress support hangers (4 of these attach mattress support to end panels), must be secure and able to withstand upward force from beneath the crib.

lindalu, thanks so much for the rules!

yeah is is planning on carving the name into and everything. he drew up some scetches and it seems like it will be really pretty. we just wanted to be sure it was going to be safe and that he follows all the rules.

he's SO excited! it's his first and it's so funny to watch my little brother be this happy about a baby lol she is only 11 weeks and he already wants to start on the crib and picking out names lol
