so I got the results of my explority surgery and the endometriosis (sp) is pretty bad and my dr (who I have been with since I was 16 and trust very very much) says that my best option for pain releaf is having a hystermectomy (sp). he is also worried that if I don't have it that the disease will spread to my bladder and bowles and cause many more problems. I have to see a 2nd DR to see if he agrees. it is the law in our state for all women under 30yrs old.

I am pretty upset about it. even though i didn't plan to have more children, it would have been nice to still have the option. Also they are not sure if they can keep one overy. they know for sure tha thte other one is bad and has to go, but if both of them turn out to be bad, then I will ahve to be on hormone replacement until I am like 50ish, which is not what I want in the least. To top it off they have to do it via my c0section scar instead of vag so the reocvery is 6-8 weeks. which means 6-8 weeks off with out pay and gary is going to have to take a few weeks off also to take care of me and the kids.

I don't have FMLA leave yet because you have to have 1250 hours in at work and I have jsut been part time since going back after kendra, so I have to work for about a month to meet the guidlines. I am hoping that I can hold off until late may or early june so that it is atleast warm out while I am off of work.

I am looking at the same thing Jill. My doctor has offered it to me at this c section, but I think we want one more kid. Has your doctor talked to you about hormone treatments? There is one they offered me... Lupron shots. I think it's 3 months you do it for and it basically puts you through menopause and then they reverse it. For many women they are symptom free after that. I decided against it because I was only 19 when they tried to get me to do it. Some women don't have relief with a hysterectomy either and the hormone replacement can be brutal. I understand what you're going through.
I hope it goes well for you and that you are able to take time off this summer!

thanks girls :) It is nice to know that you guys care. I am still having a hard time with all of this, but hormones (lupron) are not going to be the answer for me. See after you get the shot for 5mo then you have to go on cont. birth control to keep your cycle stopped, but I already tried that a while ago, and I have too much breakthrough bleeding to keep it all under control. Plus my body jsut has bad reactions to b/c in general. I don't want to have the surgery, but I also don't want this pain anymore.

Thank you all again for you thoughts and concern :) I will update when I know more. I have to go for a 2nd opp tomorrow.
