How accurate do you reckon ultrasounds are in determining the gender of your baby? Has anyone been told the wrong thing?

the doctors told my mom when she was pregant with me i was a boy but that was 17 years ago. i also have a friend whos mom was told she was a boy but she truned out to be a girl but then again that was 17 years ago so i dont know if ultrasounds have gotten better or not

they give you a percentage on how right they think they are. mine said 99.9% and i agree. i got several pictures of his little wiggler and its not his cord because i see that too. it depends on how good a picture they can get and what percent they tell you. my doc. even said that he can tell someone that its 80% a boy or girl, so theres no garantee..i trust him though.

Well in 1995 I was pg with my first and the doc at the ultrasound told me that I was having a girl....well I flipped out cause I wanted my first to be a boy and ....tah dahhhhhhhhhh...my son is 10 years old...let's hope my heart's desire is what gender is the correct one this time...a girl...lol
