Should people with severe anorexia be forced into receiving treatment in hospital?

Or

Should they be left to make their own choices about their lives?

can they force you if you are an adult? I've always been unclear on that.

The criteria is whether you are a danger to yourself or others. A doctor and/or two family members must sign the paper and present it to a judge. I guess whether you are a danger to yourself would be how underweight you are (deathly or just slightly) and if it's affecting your thinking and behavior in a way that's dangerous or irrational.

It was more of an ethics question rather than an information seeking exercise. I just wanted to know people's opinions that's all.

If that's the case then yes, I'd rather my loved one be pissed at me for locking her up than be dead.
