Sandy, I currently homeschool my kids, My daughter is 17 and my son is 13 yrs old..... The school that they attend at home allows them to participate in field trips and they also get a chance to meet all their classmates...... They can also participate in puplic school activities, like band, sports and so on.... My daughter is also going to begin some college course as well, to start her off on some college credits... My 13yr old has ADHD and I preffer not to medicate him and choose to keep him home... You can google cyber schools and see what you come up with and you will be surprised on what's out there for you and your needs... I really hope this helps a little bit...

"DO NOT hoMESCHOOL. but if you do , make sure ur kids get tons of social outlets, sports, etc. otherwise they will be FREAKS."

So...if I go to public school, I get to spell like you? Because I would LOVE to just type 'ur' instead of 'your'. It's just so CUTE! And besides, I'm just dying to walk the halls with the "normal" teens who lose their virginity at 13. I sure am a freak! But at least I have a future. Oh, and I can spell.

"Homeschooling deprives younger kids of socilization, which they need, or else they will most likely grow up socially inept, with self esteem issues and depression, I know this because I am homeschooled, and you need to let you kids be around other kids or they will not know how to act around them, they need to learn theese skills now."

Totally untrue. Just because you've had a bad experience gives you no right to rip the rest of us apart.

And Jenna;
How DARE you imply that all homeschooled students are "imbeciles"? Obviously YOU went to public school, because you're one of the rudest people I've ever had the honor to come across. =)

Homeschooling is a viable option, Sandy. I have been homeschooled since I was in Kindergarden, and I was recenlty accepted into my first choice college, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. They offered me two scholarships that cut my tuition in half. Don't worry about your kids being introvertes. Scouts, 4-H, Community Theater - it can all be used to your advantage! Check out my blog at homeschoolhighschool.wordpress.com, or my twitter @hsledwithhorses, and I'll be happy to help you with anything! Good luck, and just so you know, most people aren't nearly as nasty to homeschoolers as some of the people on this website. (=

Field trips,plays?PFFFTTT,idk where you have been living,but those things pretty much happen like what,once a year?Schools now are,run by bullies,terrible teachers that don't know there freaking way around a apple,principles that only care about how much they can get paid,and the whole school full of bullies,might of well pack your children with a 9mm in there back pack.
