My daughter will be 2 yrs old feb 13th.She has never once spoken a single word,She looks at you if you call her name and she will come to you,if you hold out your hands to her.She almost never ever smiles. She has never once fed herself. She will not chew her food, she swallows everything you feed her.She never plays with toys, only carries them around. She babbles alot and hollars. She likes to sit and rock herself. Her weight goes back and fourth between 19 lbs to 22 lbs all the time. She never points at anything. She has good eye contact.I thought she would outgrow this behavior but so far has not improved with anything. If she gets mad she will scream real loud. She crawled at 9mos old and walked at 16 mos old. What could be going on?Can any of this be normal? ?

If any of this is true then why hasn't she been to a doctor? Only a doctor can diagnose. I would be very concerned especially about the eating , she could choke.
If she has seen a doctor, than take her to a different one. Get a 2nd opinion. Autisim sound like possibly?

If any of this is true? Why would i be making it up?I do take offense to that.I have taken her to our family dr,she recommended we find a occupational therapist to take her to.She had no good real answers. And i was hoping she would outgrow this behavior but so far has not.

Rhonda: It sounds like your daughter might have autism. My 4yr. old son is autistic. The not chewing food thing is common with autistic kids. My son did that a lot! Where are you from? You should take your daughter to see a developmental specialist; that is who should diagnose her. If she is autistic, don't panic, it is not the end of the world. Hang in there. Take it one step at a time but you should try to get her a diagnosis as soon as possible so they can start helping her. Early intervention is key. Good luck to you!

Sounds like your daughter may be autistic ,PDD,or Aspergers syndrome. If I were you,I would get her tested the sooner the better. My son couldn't talk but,as soon as I did get him help to talk he learned sign language.Best of Luck to you and If I can be of help in anyway please let me know. Thanks!
