Give her some bits of wood instead. Hardwood is best instead of something like Pine which can splinter. Your pet store should sell some wooden toys for small animals.

Gerbils will chew anything because they must keep their teeth trimmed. Rodent teeth grow continuously so they have to work hard at chewing to keep them short.

Give her some wood to chew instead. They sell wooden toys in most petstores. It's safer than plastic.

god no, dont worry about anything... gerbils are natural chewers, they dont actually eat the plastic or wood things that they naw... gerbils have little pockets in either cheek which allow the shavings to fall out.....though wood is safer then plastic, the only thing you really need to worry about is if you have those tubes inb the cage as chewed spots can get sharp and chop off their tails.... i have 2 adults a male and female... they had 7 babies, well now they only have 5, my snake decided he has a taste for gerbils....
