WHY does everyone have such a horrible view on a Pitbull? Oh wait, I know, it's because the media has made them out to be these big monster dogs. Yup.

I mean I can understand that there ARE risks involved when owning a Pitbull, it all depends on how the dog is raised. If you were to go and adopt an adult Pitbull from the pound, then you are putting yourself and your family at risk because you don't know 100% how they were raised and how they will act when put into certain circumstances. I'll agree with that, and I'll agree that if you have young children and adopt an adult Pitbull then that COULD be a potentially dangerous situation.

I myself have two Pitbulls. One I have had since she was 6 weeks old and the other we've had since about 6 months of age. They are both the sweetest, most gentle, loving creatures. They are even behaved around our 3 year old.

I think that people focus on Pitbulls and think that they are dangerous because of what they have seen on the news and on tv. The real matter at hand is that ALL dogs, EVERY breed has the potential to be just as dangerous, if not more than a Pitbull. Granted a Chihuahua isn't going to cause as much damage as say, a Dobermin Pinscher, it can still cause harm.

If you obtain a Pitbull as a puppy and train it and keep an eye on their behaviour, as you would with any other dog then I honestly don't see the problem with someone owning one. There is alot more to a Pitt than the dangerous monster that everone sees. It's just that that side of a Pitt is the ONLY thing that you see.

I dunno. Take it or leave it. That's just my opinion.
