It really breaks my heart but my old lady (Sammy) is on her way out.
She's a collie cross and she's been my friend for 15+ years, i've had her before all my kids.
The vet says it just as case of look after her untill she dies.
But it has started, she's looking old and her legs are getting wobble (just i bit)
I know that's just a matter of time, she's not in pain at the mo but i don't want her to get so sick that i have to take her to be put down.
I'm with her as much as i can at the mo feeding her and loving her. she loves walks but she can only go around the block and then she wants to go home.
I've seen lots of dogs die, i've alwayed worked with dogs.
At the mo i'm working with wolfs and thats great but i can't help breacking my heart about sam

I had my dog for the same amount of time when she died, she had a brain tumor and in the end couldnt even get up and her head was tilted to one side.

It happened over the course of a couple of days, she went off her food first, then she would just sit there (I found out because she was dizzy) , then she had a stroke about three days after the intial symptoms. 2 days after that (Which REALLY pissed me off because the VET wouldnt put her to sleep, I had to wait for the monday, for the specialist to take a look at her) they put her to sleep.

I was with her when they did it, it was one of the sadest days of my life. She was the best. A buddist monk once told me, when I lost someone close to me, "Keep the memories close to your heart and they will be with you always"

I found comfort in this anyway.

Hope Ive helped

My dog is 13 years old, she's a Poodle Shnauzer. She to suffers from a brain tumor! She has seizures and is on fenabarbatol and Potassium Bromideto controll them. The poor little thing gets so confused at times, she doesnt know if she is comming or going. She's a tough little girl with a will to live! Page_e I am sorry about your Sammy, I do know how it feels to lose a animal friend. Hang in there! they do give you back all you give them.

Since i last was online Sammy has picked up....... :) once again she's chaching my pup (staffie) about and showing her who's boss.
She's looking her age but she's shocked me this time with her get up and go ability.
She's a strong dog with a fighters will.
