What kind of tank setup do you have? Are you using a filter to rid the tank of the waste?

Bleeding can be due to a number of causes including: bacterial infection, stress or parasites.

Poor water quality is generally the cause of most ill health in goldfish, which is why using a filter is important.

Let me know what your setup is like and I'll try to suggest a few things. Use the medication in the meantime.

i have a 10 gallon tank with a filter system in it they have lived in there for all of there life i recently had to move there tank so i did a water change but i kept most of there water and only added about 20% fresh water which i do with all water changes i just hope they arent in pain and i hope the medicine works

What have the petstore given you in the way of medicine?

Do you add anything to reduce stress? Aquarium Salt is a good standby for sick fish.

I don't know the dosage then. It'll tell you on the side of the packet though. It does help to reduce their stress and improve their general immunity.

What kind of medication have they given you? What's it called?

They should begin to pick up in about 24-48 hours depending upon what's wrong with them. The more serious the disease, the longer it takes, but fish usually respond pretty quickly to treatment.

You can use aquarium salt in the water even if they're not sick though. It can help to prevent illness and maintain their general health.

Are you planning to change their water once the treatment is complete? You might need to clean and sterilise everything and get some new plants. If I do a total water change then I make sure that I add some boiled water in order to raise the temperature - chilled water causes stress. I also add chemicals to neutralise the chlorine and heavy metals. They seem to cope okay with this method.
