hello! I am a college student , prospective teacher, enrolled in a class that deals with children with disabilities in the classroom. We are assigned to interview a parent that has a child with a disability by asking them the following questions. Your response would be GREATLY appreciated! Please just respond at [email protected]. thank you!!

1. what is the basic info of your child? (name, age, disability, whatever else you would like to provide)

2. How has your family life changed by having a child with disabilities?

3. How do siblings react to the child with disabilities? (anger, hostility, jealousy, love, care?)

4. Does it seem more difficult to provide for this child financially then it would for another?

5. What kind of process did you as a parent go through when you discovered your child's disability?

6. How can teachers be more helpful in the classroom to reaching the needs of this student?

7. What methods should teachers avoid?

8. Any additional info you feel I should be aware of?

Again, thank you so much for your time! It is greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Becky
