Hello, I'm just wondering if there is anyone out there who has a child that has suffered a Vitamin B12 deficiency. I have a daughter who is 5 years old, and at 1 year of age suffered a loss of all motor skills as a result of a Vitamin B12 deficiency. I later discovered that I have the B12 deficiency and since I had breast-fed her she never had enough of the vitamin. Since then she has determindly been trying to catch up the skills she lost. No one has been able to say for sure how much she'll regain, but we are very hopeful. So far she has progressed little steps at a time. I would love to have an opportunity to relate with someone else on this. Even anything similar. It's been such a long journey so far.

I hadn't realized until now how rare my daughter's situation is. I was hopeful someone out there had experienced B12 deficiency with a child. On the other hand, she is a special needs child. She has little speech skills, not potty trained, can't dress herself, and with her slowly developing skills the future is hopeful, but it's still hard and mostly it would be nice to relate with someone.
