While searching the web looking for some data for another thread I came across a lot of interesting material. One of witch was posted by the New Your Times, it talks about the 5 most food mistakes we as mum make with our child/children' s nutrition.

I know you all don't particularly like links, just give it a l@@k! I would attempt to explain what the article read but there's no way I would be able to do it accurately.

hmmm...i don't know....my kids go through phases where they won't eat. so i do just give em what they want..TO A POINT!!!! i won't feed them cookies all day long or do a chocolate diet...lol....but they do like fruit and yogurt and bread (whole grain thank fkin' christ!!LOL]..), and i give them that whenever they want....but i ALWAYS throw in a few things here and there just to see if they'll change their mind. i don't force it on them...just put it in front of them and hope for the best....a few times a week i'll make a dinner of ALL things they are picky with and if they refuse to eat it, they go to bed hungry. they are slowly coming around...at least they'll eat a bit of meat now, and Lex is eating a couple more different veggies...lol....

but i'm not going to refuse to give them stuff that i know they'll eat in hopes that they'll eat something they don't normally like...so yes...i do give them what they want, and i don't feel there's anything wrong with that. if there's any other kids out there that are as stubborn as mine, they wouldn't eat for WEEKS!!!! lol....

I always fed my daughter what ever she would eat. I remember one time she wanted bread and butter for lunch so I sent her to school with bread and butter. Later that day I received a phone call from a concerned nurse stating I was not feeding my daughter correctly.

That's so funny! When I was little I wanted bread and butter too! ha ha ha!

Silas is sometimes a picky eater and since he's not even two yet, I'd rather have him eat SOMETHING than nothing at all.
I sneak veggies into his foods sometimes when he decides that he wont eat them anymore though.

Lola-May,

I remember asking my daughters doctor if it was ok to feed her what ever she would ear, he said it was fine as long as she was eating some thing. So I let her eat what ever she would eat, of course with in reason.
