I'm a stay at home/working from home part time mom of a three month old boy. As things are now he still likes to be swaddled & rocked to sleep. He'll fall asleep sometimes unswaddled, but then will wake up when I try to put him down. From everything I've read it sounds like now is the time to start trying to get him into some good sleep habits, but I'm not sure where to begin. I'd like to be able to put him in his crib to go to sleep & not have to rock him to sleep first. I'd also like to regulate his naps a bit more if at all possible, but I'm not sure how to go about doing this without letting him get too tired or trying to put him to sleep when he's not tired enough. Any tips anyone can offer me would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Raina - Try getting a book by Dr. Ferber (I think that's how you spell the last name). I used his method for my daughter and she has been sleeping through the night 12-13 hours straight since she was 8 weeks old, with two naps (one hour or so in the morning and two or so hours in the afternoon) until around age one and then one nap (about two hours or so) in the afternoon from one until the present -- she is now three years old. It really makes life much more enjoyable for both of us. Good luck.
