Teletubbies in Polish 'gay' probe
ITN - Tuesday, May 29 08:59 amA Polish government watchdog has said it wants to investigate if the Teletubbies promote homosexuality.
Ewa Sowinska, who deals with children rights, said she would ask psychologists to advise if this was the case in the BBC children's show.
She was quoted as saying: "I noticed (Tinky Winky) has a lady's purse, but I didn't realise he's a boy.
"At first I thought the purse would be a burden for this Teletubby ... Later I learned that this may have a homosexual undertone."
Poland's conservative government has upset human rights groups and drawn criticism within the EU by apparent discrimination against homosexuals.
But parliamentary speaker Ludwig Dorn said he had warned Sowinska against making public comments "that may turn her department into a laughing stock."
The Teletubbies became a target of religious conservatives in 1999 after the late US evangelist Jerry Falwell suggested Tinky Winky could be homosexual. ↓

| I guess I dont concern myself with people being Gay...Its not my place to judge... treating people with compassion is however my responsibilty even if they are gay or straight....I get so sick and tired of my kids coming home and saying so and so called me gay...I had a long talk with my kids about not being prejudice because someone is gay...God is the only judge...Thats how I handled it. ↑ |

I agree dawn....my nephew who i have been around since he was born...always ALWAYS pounced around loving high heels and scarfs and just acted like he was a ready made drag queen...at age 2 :-|
he is 30 now and as Gay as they come...LOL not that anyone was surprised...hahahahahahha
now lesbianism...i think of the same...there are wanna bes out there who do it for reasons not related to being born that way but more from being socially made.
i personally think true homosexuallity is being born with an imbalance of the right hormones...male too much estrogene and female too much testosterone...JUST MY OPINION ↑ |

| That is so neat Dawn, if you find the study let us know. It would be interesting to read. I agree about women though, some you see are truly butch like, and maybe they are born that way. I know a woman who chose that lifestyle after many failed relationships and a rape. She said she had just given up on men. No offense but personally I would much rather just be alone.

winn! oh my gosh -- i honestly cannot believe that i am reading this coming from you. you -- the calm, collected, levelheaded one of the bunch actually believe that a teletubby (that you admit you weren't even AWARE was a boy) who carries a purse is planting the seeds of homosexuality in our kids minds....it's a PUPPET -- not a person -- PUPPETS do not have sex w/ ANYONE/ANYTHING/EACH OTHER -- how could a PUPPET be gay??? i know we don't chat a lot, but you seem so cut and dry - black/white on this issue -- i'm just a bit surprised, i suppose. oh well, to each his own.

i have several gay friends and i've listened to and seen all of the discrimation/hatred thrown their way and i KNOW that they didn't choose to be the way they are... they just ARE the way they are.

one piece of advice to my daughter who will turn 18 this year. ....Dont fake it....if theyre useless in bed...TELL THEM...dont think that you have to pretend to make them happy.
