I got one a few years ago and got the worst flu of my life. I haven't had another one since. Now people are asking me if I'm getting one and I'm telling them no,i'll take my chances without it. Are you getting one? ↓

The flu shot actually is made up of several different strains of the flu. The CDC looks at what hit Asia last year because that is most likely what is going to hit the US this year.
The flu shot does not cover every strain of flu virus out there, but it will help reduce the severity of symptoms of those strains not covered.
You can not get the flu from the flu shot. It is NOT a live virus The flu shot takes about 1-2 months before it provides immunity. That's why they recomend getting the shot in Oct or Nov. Flu season starts at different times depending where you live, but they figure the start is around Jan on the average.
It you got the flu after receiving the shot, your a victim of poor timing (aka murphy's law).
For those of you scared of needles, there is a nasal mist form. But be warned this version is a LIVE WEAKENED virus, so you may feel crappy for a couple of days after. It is approve for use in childern age 6 or greater.

| My son has asthma but really the only time it bothers him at all is in the winter. That cold air just takes his breath away and can do a number on him. Each year he gets better though it seems as he gets older,maybe he will eventually outgrow it? ↑ |

| I use to get it every year up until about 3 years ago. I have been very lucky and have not caught it. My daughter has not had it yet, but she's never had the flu, in fact she stays very healthy. I think I remember her only have three minor colds her whole life and she's 7! ↑ |
