1. cooking larger amounts and freezing leftovers.......it is cheaper to buy bulk .......or buy bulk and freezer bags and seperate
like cooking dinners that last a few meals, like casserole spaghetti sauce chilli, stews soups that can be frozen

also making your own spagetti sauce tastes much better is cheaper and you get way more

if you have a cell phone and rarily use the minutes( this does not work for us) but if you rarely use the minutes skip the plans and o emergency only......or pay as you go.......this is not good for people who regularily use their cell phones......

computers draw a lot of power, turn them off at night

I wash after 10 pm & hang out the washing in the morning, this saves you money on electricity,

also i have 9 litre bucket in shower & each time we shower & it fills up i then use that water to put a load in the washing machine,

another one i do is each time my kids grab a glass of water then almsot never drink it all i pour the left over water in the kettle :-)

we also have no lights on on saturday night & play games with candles & we have so much fun & kids love it & were saving at the same time :-)

in the winter we dress up in our warmest clothes & have blankets while watching t.v rather than straight for the heater,

i also cook larger amounts of food winn & freeze, this helps out not only on costs but also for us Mums, it just makes meal times easier of the night :-)

i have plenty more & i'll type them in later!!!

Ohhhh & b4 i go, always make sure the power points are off when not using them, because although you dont have anything plugged in you still have power coming out!!!!

I also have a 20 litre tub outside & when it rains i use it to water my garden,
but of course if i had the money i would buy a rain water tank!!

Great info.
Try using florescent bulbs they save a heck of a lot on your electricity.

Wash your cloths in cold water.

Irene,
I do not think we get power cheaper at night, I think it is all one rate.........
