Kaden has been in a size 4 since about 4 or 5 months. It is the size he has been in the longest. He was pretty chubby until he started moving around and I am using the Pampers Baby Dry sz 4 and they are the only ones that don't leak so far.

I don't think that they weight recommendations have anything to do with it. Every baby is shaped differently. I actually believe that the weight is how much the diaper can hold LOL
I have stopped changing him in the middle of the night and after him peeing in it, it weighs about 10 lbs : |

thanks randi....kingston is chubby..but not putting as much weight sine he is more active..but i do notice that the 3's are getting hard to strap..Everyone always just says he is fat..he is the size of my friends 10 month old..

yeah Anika was in step 4 diapers by 8 months or something and she's 15 months now and JUST went to step 5.....

but i agree with randi about the weight thing. Anika should be in a step 4 still if i go by the weight recommendations, but she's got such a bubble butt, that the step five just fits better for her....

just dress them in what fits best...ignore the steps and weights and all that crap....

My second son is in a size 3 Luvs and he is 16 months old. Kingston just must be a big boy. Is your husband a big/tall man?

I think it depends on the brand too. My husband is kind of small so maybe my son is too.

I do it by the weight sort of. We always knew when to go up a size because the diaper wouldn't last through the night, even after a midnight change.

I notice the cheap diapers did not last at night. So I would make him wear the cheap ones during the day and the expensive ones to bed. Luvs lasts through the night, Ingles brand doesn't.
