Does anyone have windows 2000 on their computer? My sons computer has windows 2000 The computer crashed and my husband started poking around. He should have let me just take it in to be repaired, but he didn't. He ended up formating the hard drive and erasing out everything. After searching all over I was able to find our windows 2000 cd in a box of stuff in the basement. The cd worked and started to install. I am at the part where it ask for the product code, but I can not find the orig. case for the cd anywhere and that is where the product code is. I have tried jsut shutting the computer off and I was going to install the copy of xp that I bought a while ago and still ahve the product key for, but the computer always goes bacy to the set up for win 2000 even if I insert the xp disk. I do not want to go out and buy windows 2000 again because the computer is older and I do not ahve a ton of money to waste on it if the install does not work. In short does anyone know if I can bypass the product key or how I could get a product key? ↓
