Elliesmummy.single mums in the uk are entitled to full housing benefit, income support, and child tax credit .
if the single mum works part time she will get working tax child benefit and also full childcare costs.
the single mums benefit was stopped and tax credits replaced it.the income support is just for the mother and no money in that is anything to take care of the child, the child money is soley in the child tax credit. also full council tax help and just the usual weekly child benefit.
if the mother works full time but on a reasonably low income she will still be entitled to housing benefit to cover part of her rent and all the child tax and working tax credits and council tax benefits[but less of them] but she wont get income support.
