so hubby fire season is finished and for the last month they've been doing fuel managment. the hours lick my ass!!!! he ends up leaving for work 10-15 minutes after the kids wake up, and doesn't get home until 15-20 minutes before their bedtime. lastnight i kept em up an hour longer than usual just so he could spend time with them, but now i'm really paying for it, cause they still woke up at the same time, so got less sleep and they tired and cranky.

all i can say is that i REALLY hope hubby gets that promotion, cause i can't stand this much longer. i feel so bad for the kids not being able to see him....they ask for him alllll day "where's daddy?" "when's daddy coming home?" they miss him so much....and I also feel really bad for hubby cause I can tell he's missing them alot too....

I know how you feel!
Jason leaves for work early, sometimes even before Silas wakes up.
Then he comes home and has at the most, 45 minutes to spend with him and most of that time Silas is eating supper.
Jason gives him his bath and reads his bedtime stories so that he can spend a 'little' more time with him.

I agree, sometimes it seems like it would be easier to just have Silas in bed already when Jason gets home so he doesn't get all wound up from seeing him.

At least we have weekends right?

oh yes...our weekends are sacred....lol...but even in the summer months, that's not even guaranteed...it can get pretty busy for him. we'll be ready to go to the park or something, and then "beep beep beep" stupid fkin' pager, and he's gone....

at least now, in the winter there's no standby, so we don't have to worry about that....

Aw that really does suck.

Mark's hours aren't so bad. He leaves for work at 7.30 in the mornings, about a half hour after Joey wakes up, so he does have time to see Joey then and he gives Joey his morning milk while I get dressed.

And then he's home by 5 most evenings, unless he has to work late, but even if he does, it isn't so bad cause Joey's bedtime isn't till 8pm, so unless Mark decides to go climbing with his friends, they usually do have a couple of hours in the evenings together.
