I dont have a problem with teen mums IF it happens in certain circumstances.

What i dont agree with / support are those younger ones going out to intentially fall pregnant..because they think babies are cool.

Accidents happen , yes i understand and support those it happens to. I dont look down on any mother of any age, as long as they do the right thing by there child.

or the girls who go out and get pregnant just to get the baby bonus.that pisses me off.then they just ditch the poor buba with there parents to look after.spend all there dole money on smokes and grog.

the only reason i had posted this was cos when i was in the other forums alot of them actualy bad mouth teen moms..... and i just wanted to see how many people think like that about t/ms.......... i do agree with you on the ones that go out just to get preg tho..... thats just stupid....... and also cruel

yip there is probly an even mix of both t/ms and adult moms that do that.............

yeh its not just teen mums but its more common to happen in teens.some really do want kids and are good parents but others just want the money and to not have to get a job after they finish school because its too hard.having a baby is harder if only they knew that before they have them.

i have nothing against teen mums....theyre mothers now ...no going back and lectureing!!!!
i do however get pissed off....if they decide a year down the track that theyre missing out on life and leave their kids with the grandparents or someone else to raise....and this happens ALOT!

I was a teen Mom :)

I think It is harder to parent whilst still being a teen.......because a teen is not fully grown up themselves......But this can go for adults too if they are not mature......also I think ANY unplanned pregnancy teen or not, would be difficult at first.

I don't have a problem with it as long as they step-up to their responsibilites. My cousin isn't a teen, but acts like a 16 year old. She was with the same guy for 6 years, and when they broke up, she was dating guy after guy, and wouldn't stay single. She is now pregnant and she came over crying the other night because she doesn't know who the dad is. Then proceeded to tell me she wanted to do a prenatal DNA test. I looked into it for her and it requires a Amnio. I told her that was a silly risk to take if it was not medically required. She said she didn't care, if it put the one guys's mind at ease. She has no brain.

Oh and I am not saying by her being that way that all 16 year old act that way.

I think every person is different and should be judged for themselves not as a group. I have seen (when a maternity nurse) little girls (I am talking 13-14) having a baby...the daddy is in his 20's (ewwwwwwwwwwww) and the families are Happy about this!!! That is just sick!!

People should only be permitted to have children between the ages of 28 -37 and only if they're conceived on a Tuesday, but not during the month of March.

When the child is born it should be electronically tagged to prevent theft and also to make it easier to track down, should it involve itself in a spot of impromptu shoplifting.

All children should be painted blue on their third birthday.

haha....good point!!!! does it really matter what age??? yes, i think it's bad for a 15 year old to have a baby and not finish school...but as long as you take care of your child/children. my best friend got pregnant when she was 17 and just turnt 19 this month...she's a dang good mom too!!!

I think teen Mums can be great Mums just like older Mums! I would be upset though if one of my daughters came home at 15 and said she was pregnant(My girls are 2 and 1)..You need to live a litle first go and party do everything you want to do.. I did....i was 22 when i had my first bub. still young,. i was just up town though in Crazies and this girl and boy in school uniform were cuddling and when i walked past with my newborn she said ohh how cute i want one..her boyfriend said No you dont.. I wouldnt plan to have a baby that young,, accidents happen though...but planned accidents happen too..

I was a teen mom and if your willing to grow up quick and take responsibility for your actions you can be a great mom. I know 30 year olds out there that weren't 1/10 the mom I was to my daughter. I guess I believe it's all in the person, not necessarily the age.

I don't have a problem with teen mums I am one myself.. but I do have a problem with girls that are 13 purposly getting pregnant for the wrong reasons... my sister in law had a baby last year at just 13... she only had this baby for money and an excuse to get out of school... now I think that is just totally wrong! The poor baby doesn't see any family cos no-one is happy with her mother and it doesn't get looked after properly... now thats what i have a problem with...

13 year olds shouldnt be having sex......there kids! I didnt even know what sex was when i was 13... no wonder there are so many deseases around.. they need to be more aware..its not like theres nothing available..hospitals GIVE condoms out in a basket at the counter..and theres plenty of contreceptives available..

I had my son when I was 19 but knowing all the things I know now I DEFINITELY would have taken EVERY precaution to make sure I didn't get pregnant until MUCH later in life, like 10-15 YEARS later!!! Lol

Name: Meagan | Date: Feb 21st, 2007 2:03 AM
She was on the Pill!!!!...... she got pregnant on purpose.... thats what eats me up.. she got pregnant cos she didn't want to go to school anymore and needed a good excuse.. Now the baby doesn't get looked after... she doesn't get fed properly has been to the hospital 3 times with de-hydration!.... it's just disgusting!!

My step-daughter became preganant @ 15! Had her daughter @ 16! She has another lil girl...now 18 mos. And...pregnant w/ her 3rd (lordy) a boy. She's just 21, and...one heck of a mom!!!

I think that at 16 your to young to have a baby. You haven't had a chance to live your own life. I'm not saying your not capable of looking after a baby but having a child changes everything. You longer have the freedom like you use to and you can't do the things your friends are doing and it would be hard to adjust to that. Its easier when you are older you have lived your life and enjoyed it (hopefully), you've got pissed every Saturday night and had sex with different men and did what you wanted when you wanted without any responsibility and judgement passed upon you.
Well thats what I think

I think 13 is way too young too. I still consider them a babe themselves. I was 17 when I got pregnant and 18 when I had her. I was too young, but you can make it work.

I had my son at 17... I see myself as a good mother he has a great life! Me and His Dad are still together and happy.. We have another baby on the way... my son comes first.. Always!... He has new clothes, toys and everything.. He eats healthy has a bath every night... now i know alot of 40 y/o mothers that don't even do that for there kids!!

Name: marija | Date: Feb 21st, 2007 2:15 AM
i have a similar case to you lory only the opposite
my neice had four kids under the age of 21....she is USELESS!!!
her mother, my cousin is now raising all four..she herself has two kids still in the house...a 17yo and a 12yo...theyre helping raise their nephews. Sad because my poor cousin is tired, and her skanky ass daughter is running around having the time of her life!!!....shes gonna get a whooping when i get my hands on her....LOL...she knows it too :-)))

Well hon........I have a difficult time to say. Why? because at the moment I have a daughter 7....hummmm? Who knows right?! But I think though yeah...no I wouldn't be thrilled if that happened to her.......Gads NO.....but her or anyone else...If that child.....sorry but yes ...child takes on the role as "PARENT" and does ALL they can to be the best parent they can be (yes....too with guideance....though perhaps, more than "SOME" adults.....and which one of us didn't NEED some sort of guidance) I honestly believe they will be just fine.......I do believe that.

Teens, young adults, adults........regardless many never cut it......cuz they never wanted to......wouldnt matter. If you are focused and as positive as anyone could be at ANY age......yeah with time they will be just fine.

Iam with you Meagan.. we know we look after our kids.. It doesnt matter how old you are.. I get pissed off when i go up town and the old farts look at me like I shouldnt be a Mum.. i have 4 kids under 4 and iam only 26.. theres nothing wrong with that.. think back to when our Mums were kids. they had 7 to 12 sisters and brothers casue there was nothing to stop them having kids.. no one says anything about that..
