hi
As you may know there is a new law here saying every child under a certain height and under 12 MUST have a car seat. I have FIVE kids all needing car seats! One is still in a car cot, one is a baby seat and three are boosters. But I can fit only fit two of the five in my car and four of the five in the family car. ANYONE know what to do?

hello i went on a holiday to new zealand where the law is any child under 5 had to be in a child seat i have 6 kids 5 of which were under 5 at the time we had a van but could not manage the car seats all in because of the size of the boosters. i went to the local police station and was given an exemption for the oldest child (had to be in the car with his family, did not apply when travelling with others) Apparently there are alot of Kiwis with the same problem. It wont hurt to make a phone call to your local Police station and asking.

The law says that you put as many of the kids as possible in car seats, lin your case two, so you put the two youngest in car seats and the rest, just chuck them in somewhere (nicely!). My aunt is a childminder and when I stayed with her I had to help her with all the childs seats she told me all this. They arent very strict on this law, they just advise you to put them in seats, they wont arrest you or anything so don't worry. So to summerise because Iv lost track of what im meaning, put the youngest two in the approrpiate child seats and the others sat normally but if the youngest two arent in the car, it would be a good idea to put the boosters/whatever in for the others. Hope this helps!
