I am taking my son in today for a eeg because he had a fever a few weeks back but also had a seizure at the same time. I was wondering if a autistic child has seizures, (I've never noticed them but this one) unless he is having them in his sleep, does that make thrm more severE? I read this and wonder if it's true. He is over 4 yrs old, and he was tested with an eeg at 3 and it came back negative. But docs say that doesn't mean anything for now? Any insight?

Hi Dianna again. From the resources I've read, that a more severe autistic kids can suffer seizures, but your case, it's hard to say yet. Kids can have seizures from high fever, and thus, it may be from the fever and not from autism. I think it becomes clearer if you noticed seizures more frequently in the future, but for now, it could just be from the fever and won't come back.
