| Hey Everyone! My 13th b-day is coming up fast and I really want a co-ed party, but I really don't know what to do! I remember one of my b-days were I had some of my close friends come over and we spent the night in a cool tent in my back yard and cooked over the fire and everything and that was one of the most fun times I've ever had! | I've been reading all of the stuff you guys have been writing about video cameras.... All I can say is NOOOO! Believe me, that is not a good way to do things. If your children find out you WILL NOT hear the end of "major invasion of privicy"!!! I would hate for my mom to not trust me enough to put CAMERAS in the house! The least you could do is stay in the house but, for example, you could camp out downstairs (if you have one...lol.) they could get (most of) the main level and periodically check on everyone ....you know? My friend's parents did that and it was the best party ever! Usually I feel uncomfortable at parties that the kids (especially if it is co-ed) get ALL the privicy they would ever want, but in this case, we were monitered a bit and nothing inappropiate happened! ↑ |

| who cares if your daughter thinks you'll embarrass her dont start now letting her have unsupervised partys cause imagine when she turns 16 and wants to invite 20 guys for an unsupervised party im 14 and i had the best party ever with a dj and it was awesome it was all outdoors and my dad was cooking at the barbeque which i didnt mind at all and my mom was inside with a couple her freinds ..... also THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN BE EMBARRASSED IS IF YOU MAKE YOURSELF THAT WAY - if your parents start talking to your freinds dont make yourself look like your embarrassed just laugh it off and pull your mom or dad aside and tell them that you would rather them not talk to your freinds right now ↑ |

Don't really get deep into conversations with the other kids. That will really imbarrass her. Find some games to do... buy the AMERICAN IDOL BOARD GAME. that is supposed to be soooooo fun. | ok. i am turning 13 and much like your daughter, i want to host a huge, unforgettable party (make duvall, the popular girl, on a run for her money) with 30-40 people. what i did to convince my mom was make a huge power point on why i want this. i gave her a few reasons; budget, limited people, splitting the buying half and half, and of course how 13 was the year i turn teenage, a time to be celebrated! but i agreed to let my mom come downstairs (its being hosted in my basement) every so often. best wishes! ↑ |
