I threw a party for my daughter last Saturday and what a disaster that was! She turned four...maybe she's too young for a party...and i invited six of her little friends over. I was the only parent there and the kids were everywhere. All my decorations were torn down (and eaten by one kid) and they hated my entertainment. I can't figure out where exactly i went wrong. I planned it all, from start to finish!

i think you went wrong when you started "planning" the party. they're 4! four year olds don't follow plans especially when they are full of sugar and other treats. as long as all the little kiddies had fun, that's what matters.

You should have stated on the invites that parents are to stay during the whole party. I can not believe that the parents just dropped their kids off. And two four is a little young for an organized party. Next time have it at mcdonalds. They organize it for you.

You poor thing. Sounds like you had a bad time of it.
I would suggest searching childrens party planning online and reading up on it before you try it again!

You didnt do anything wrong....it was neat that you planned this party for your child. Just because everything didnt go well doesnt mean that you PLANNED IT WRONG...they are four yr old kids so i guess they went wild and you know it seemd like a fun party because the kids didnt really complain. yeah it would be a great idea to invite the parents along as well coz it always helps to have them around.... and

I use the rule for every year of the childs age one child for each year. so for a 4 year old not more than 4 children...at least this works for me....go to the library they have good books on childrens party tips that will help you....

I don’t think you did anything wrong. The first year my son was in school I invited his class over for a Halloween party. They were all five years old. I was really freaked out that many tiny five year olds rang my door bell as their parents were pulling out of the drive way. Most of them had never even met me, yet dropped off the kids and left. I learned. All invitations after that said parent must attend. I did that until the children were older. Nothing worse than you alone against the little ones. Kids are kids, you never know what they will like, you think you do, and then they show you different. I’m sorry that happened, but it will get better.
