My natural body clock is to be up until 3 am and then to sleep until 10 or 11. It has been that way since I was a young child. My doctor has told me that my circadian rhythm is set to be awake at evening hours. But this does not work too well as a stay at home mom. When I worked outside the home, I would struggle desperately with the hours, but managed somehow. But as a SAHM, I don't have the fear of being fired keeping me awake, so consequently I struggle with my wake and sleep hours a few times a year.

I ahve been struggling with insomnia for a couple of weeks now. This is no good for a stay at home mom. Because I am breastfeeding, I cannot take any sleep aids. I have tried catnip tea, no caffeine, except for the a.m. (which does me no good when I have been up all night). Warm baths. Wish my spouse could give massages for more then 5 minutes, but we cannot afford for me to go out and get a professional massage more then twice a year.
I sleep when my baby sleeps, but I have great difficulty waking up when she does. Fortunately my two older children come home from school before that time and aid me in waking up when they hear the baby.

Any suggestions on how I can get to sleep. I struggle with this a few times every year. This has to change!
