These are called Montgomery's glands. The substance they produce is actually a lubricant for breastfeeding. Try to leave them alone as much as possible, this is natural. ↑ |

I have the same thing on my nipples too! My husband was like what is that?Did you not wash? I was like I think it is the milk just buliding up for when the babies are born.(were having twins). I think it is normal, but you could ask your Dr on your next appt. ↑ |

Thank you! I haven't messed with them since I read this. Good thing I didn't just take my friends advice! I had one tell me that she'd take a wash clothe and scrub her nipples to get all that out, expecially when she got closer to her due date. She said she was preparing her nipples for breast feeding. I heard though that you shouldn't have to do anything as long as you get proper help to make sure the baby latches on correctly. ↑ |

to concerned, some people don't experince this its ok. you will still be able to breast feed. i didn't have it happen and i've been breastfeeding for 5 months ↑ |
