You shouldn't be dieting while you're breastfeeding. Instead, cut out any junk food and eat healthily, but don't limit your food or fluid intake. If you're hungry then you need food. You also need 500 extra calories per day if you're breastfeeding. You'll lose the weight easily enough due to running around looking after junior.

Dieting is not recomended when you are breastfeeding, I am breastfeeding my son who is now 3 months old and have lost almost all of my weight. I know it is difficult and I tell myself everyday that losing weight fast would be great but my baby needs my milk to grow strong and healty and that means mommy needs to be healthy as well. I would love to lose an extra 25 pounds but I will have to wait until I am done breastfeeding. I have read that after the 3 month period of breastfeeding you sart losing weight faster. I do beleive that if you do not eat right or enough the productivity of your milk will change. I do not think you will lose your milk but it might lack some important nutrience which helps the baby grow . Good luck to you and always remember that your child depends on you to make the right choice when it comes to his health as well as yours. If this really bothers you then maybe you should consider bottle feeding. What ever decision you make I am sure it will turn out positive.
