well I don't know of anyplaces that give that sort of stuff away you could try to contact your locah department of human services and they may be able to help or direct you. I don't know if you have family or how much money you have, but you can get the cheap ones if you have enough or can barrow some money. OR go to your husbands work and ask for an advance on the money they owe him on his check. If they say no then let you baby piss all over and say "sorry I couldn't buy diapers because you under paid my husband" You could get a pay day loan. or if worse came to worse sue the burp rags that most people give you at a shower for a cloth diaper and do lots and lots of laundry. One last think I don't want to sound judgemental, but if you are cutting it so close that you can't buy diapers because of a short check then maybe you guys could look for him a new job or you could work or maybe see a financal planner to herlp you budget better. I don't know you situation or what you are doing currently, but some of these things may help to prevent this in the future.

cloth is really expensive though marti. i usually buy boxed diapers like in bulk that way i know im set for a little bit. instead of spending money on stupid things like soda or chips, make sure you have what you need for your baby, bills, yadi yada and then worry about other things.

Are they really? My mother used cloth and calls me a landfill mother because I don't use those. Whatever. I started buying them months before Ian was born. You know like a pack every time we shopped. We're still set for another month or so.

salvation army sometimes has diapers to people who need help and i agree you call the community center in you area...in my town it's called community and family services....they should be able to help you without any problems

I used to work for a place called Community Action Partnership, you could see if you have one in your area, although the name may be slightly different. It's basic service was a food bank, but we helped with other stuff too and a lot of the times we had diapers and formula donated to us.

Other than that churches, churches, churches! You don't have to be a member to get help from a church. Start calling around and find out which churches regularly donate to the community. Call your local foodbanks and ask them, they will have good resources for you and can tell you where to go.

Also try the Salvation Army, we worked with them through my old job and they alloted us so much money each month to help people and we could give them vouchers for diapers if needed, so they maybe able to give you some resources as well.

Also when you do get some money again, maybe go out and purchase some cloth diapers, that way if you ever get stuck again you have an option for a few days.

Thanks guys...I had forgotten I had put back diapers in case of emergencies! So I found them and we are all set....Just hit a rough time so you know everyone goes through that or at least most normal people do. I can't get a job also because my doctor has put me on bed rest would if I could my husband is the one who works right now. He is doing hte best that he can but...he is only one person who can only do so much!

hey i totally understand....we have 2 kids and a 3rd on the way....i'm not able work beause i'm have alot of issues with my pregnancy and i don't have anyone to watch my kids even if i did. we live out in the country...moved up here to help care for aging inlaws...even the nearest day care center is 1 hour away! we do alright most of the time...but then a week will come up when something goes wrong and there's just not enough money to go around....don't worry about it! everyone goes through it!

OK. I dont know where you are but there are Ikeas everywhere( you know the furniture store.) They have a parent baby lounge there and they have free diapers and wipes. Hope there is one near you.
