yeah he had his intial exam already..they told me around 9-10 months is when he will have his surgery. Also i was told that hypospadias is genetic so that may be why both your boys have it...if they have sons they could have it also. it doesnt run in my family so i guess it runs in jonathans....
but yeah i'll email you ith a few of my questions Thanks
my email is [email protected] ↑ |
The pediatrician at Sam's birth didn't know too much about it so she went home that night and did some research. Basically, she came back and told us they don't know what causes it, could be a number of things. I did read that sometimes it runs in families, but it never occurred in mine or my hubby's and we're definitely hoping our kids kids won't have to suffer with it either :( Anyway, email me if you want to chat. ↑ |
Tyler had hypospadias too! I remember KarenM and I discussing this when Wyatt was diagnosed. I too can answer any questions you may have. You can not hardly tell Tyler had a surgery at all. ↑ |
It actually has shocked me to see that this is so unrare. ↑ |
Karen! It's been ages since I've chatted with you...hope you and hubby are well and of course I am sure Tyler and Belle are growing like weeds!
I am so glad you can't really tell Tyler had surgery. Wyatt was not so fortunate I am afraid (which scares the hell out of me for Sam having to go in also). You can definitely tell he had surgery - the hole is still at the glans area but it's moved from 6 o'clock at the base to 3 o'clock so it's really torqued to the side...he stills manages to pee fairly straight tho so other than esthetics, I don't think he'll be too upset by it. At least I really hope not. ↑ |
is the surgery in patient or out patient?
we had the ultrasound for his kidneys and everything was fine! ↑ |
Tyler's was a same day surgery, with a follow up 2 weeks later to remove the catheter. ↑ |
Sorry Danese, haven' been on in ages. Same thing as Karen tho...Wyatt had out-patient/same-day surgery but they took his catheter out a week later I think. ↑ |
