I had my first appointment today, everything went good. I had an ulrasound and they said as of right now they are estimating me to be 5 weeks and 5 days, but I will have another ultrasound next Tuesday for a more accurate date. I can't wait!!! My doctor said I'm high risk this time since I had pre-eclampsia with my son and she is recommending I have another c-section because my pelvis is narrow which is probably why I ended up with a c-section for Kadin.

i'm glad that everything is going well. why will tuesday's US give a more accurate date? i was always told that the ealrier the US the more accurate it is. like i had one that said i was 10 weeks, then 4 weeks later i had one that said i was 16 weeks but they said i was still 14 weeks because we had to go by the earliest US.....just wondering what they told you.

On todays ultrasound all you could see was the sac and a little circle, looked like a cherrio and they said that right around 6 weeks is when you can actually see the shape of the baby instead of a circle. They estimated how far along I was based on the size of the sac and when they can actually measure the baby next week they will be able to confirm or change how far I am. It's looking like I conceived in August when I didn't even have a period, I have always had irregular periods so that's why they are trying to base my due date on the ultrasounds.

My first c-section was awful!!! I felt them cutting into me and almost passed out from the pain and they ended up sedating me once I saw my son because I was having trouble breathing. It was awful, I'm dreading having another one. You're lucky Nikkis that you had a good experience.:-)

oh my!!!!! How could you feel them cutting you?? I dont even wanna think about that possibility this time around...im pretty nervous as it is.

nikki, i had forgotten you had a c-section with brooke. and yes, you are so lucky it wasnt that bad for you. Mine was bad but i mean the recovery part. I was so miserable, hope this time around it's not gonna be so bad cause im gonna have to watch out for my son...i cant believe im gonna have 2 kids!!!

They didn't give me enough meds to numb me and when they started cutting I could feel every move they made, before they started they pricked me with a needle to see if I could feel it and I told them yes, but they didn't give me more meds just started cutting. It was the most awful thing in the world. My hubby was outside the door waiting for them to let him come in and he said he almost busted down the door because he heard me screaming telling them to stop because I felt it. They wanted to sedate me right then but I wouldn't let them because I wanted to see my son and make sure he was okay, once he was born they put me under. It was at an army hospital and not to put them down, but I didn't receive the best care from them during my pregnancy so it wasn't much of a surprise when that happened. When are you scheduled for your c-section vane? I'm sure everything will be fine. :-)

how awful....my c-section is scheduled for oct.2 and im very anxious. Maybe because this time around i know what to expect...with my first it was an emergency c-sec and i was 18 and was more shocked than anything, so i felt no nerves. But now it's weird...i know what the procedure is like and all the steps around it. I just really hope i have a better recovery than the last time.

for me it was all surreal. i mean i figured i'd have to have a c-section because brooke was breech, but i thought i wouldnt be happening that soon. and even though i labored for 12 hours i tried not to think about the impending c-sec, so the nervous didnt really get to me until they were wheeling me to the OR. i was in tears and still crying while they gave me the spinal block. but it was all good once it kicked in. and my recovery was super fast.
