Not sure if you remember but ever since he was born, Joey's head has been flat at the back right. He's now almost 7 months old, and there has been no change, and so last month, our doctor arranged for Joey to see a specialist, although we were told it might be months before we could get an appointment.

Well, the Children's Hospital have just rang telling me they had a cancellation and would I like to bring Joey's appointment forward! It's tomorrow morning! Ohh I'm a little nervous! Although I'm sure he'll be fine. It's just not nice having to bring your baby to hospital.

Anyone else's babies had this problem?

Hey Gill I haven't experienced this first hand, however my cousins 3 boys all had the same problem. Their heads had flat spots or just weren't round like they should be. They all had to be fitted for helmets. The helmets help reshape their heads. Anyway their heads are just fine now. I figure this is the same thing they will do for Joey. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Aww no that sucks =/
But at least yel get it sorted now. With those kinda things it's better sooner rather than later.
Do you know if that kind of thing is genetic or what?

My son (also named Joey) had the same problem. He did not have to have a helmet though, they just told me to have him sleep on his sides more to help round out the head better. He was about 3-4 months old when they noticed the head thing at the doctors. Good luck with everything!

Hey i work at a hospital that has a clinic that specialises in children that has problems with things like. They usually depending on how bad it is get a helmat made for the child to wear for a certain period of time that reshapes the skull so it gets back the normal appearence. Its really common. Olivia used to have it a little bit and we had to try and get her to sleep on her tummy and lucky for us she took to sleeping on her tummy! Don't worry though im sure Joey will be fine! Its really common in young babies and there is a way to fix it!
