How many outfits will you by for your little one in the first couple months? I bought a few pieces of newborn sizes and mostly 3-9 months because i figure that he will grow so fast.

With my son...people always said buy bigger he will grow so fast...well he had problems and wa 7lbs 2 oz when born...then 5 lbs when i took him home 8 wks later...he stayed in 0-3 months for at leats six months...At 4 he wears 3T....So he is small....Now that i am pregs again...I have no idea either what a normal baby should be at...but to be safe don't buy to much little stuff...to early...you can always add...they will eventually grow into biigger sizes....so i'd say they are safe....And don't buy to much frilly stuff....babys that young are best off in onesies and and easy cotton outfits

I have not started shopping yet. We are going to wait until after our next US to make sure that everything is ok with the baby and then start. I think that I will mostly buy under clothes and sleepers sheets socks stuff like that. I don't want to buy too many clothes because we are not finding out the sex.

Babies are messy little things. If they aren't throwing up all over their outfit they are pooping in it. So I have about 10-15 outfits - easy outfits like sleepers and one piece things - 1 dress up outfit, 3 layettes and a bunch of onesies. I loved the layettes with my little girl because you have easy access the first few days and don't have to fight them. I only have a few 5-8lb (premie) outfits for just incase the rest are 0-3mnth and yes I already have his 3-6mnth and up wardrobe!! Good luck. (If you shop the sales at the end of the season you can get a ton of stuff for way cheap - that's how I did it. Otherwise we'd be doing laundry every day - it's expensive to clothe these little cuties!!)

Can anyone point me to a list of basics for a nursery including clothing. What would I need for say the first month? Like how many onsies/sleepers/cribsheets, etc, etc. I've only bought 2 outfits so far and won't have much space to stock up til the nursery is finished. I'm about 12 weeks right now so I have some time but want to be able to budget for the big stuff and not leave out the little things I don't know that I need yet.

I would make sure that you have enough under clothes socks and sleepers for 2 weeks so taht you don't have to do the wash all the time. get a couple sets of crib sheets at least 5 rec. blankets. I never used bibs with my son when he was little I jsut used a wash cloth under his neck while he was feeding to catch any drips and to help keep the clothes clean. There are websites that you con go to that will give you a check off list, but they have lots and lots of stuff that you don't really need if you want to keep it to the necessities.

I was just wondering if any of you guys were gonna have baby showers? I live in one state and most of my family live in another so i will have 2 maybe 3 if they give me one at work? I bout a few things mostly green and yellow stuff till i find out what i am having. but i plan to wait till after the showers and finding out what it is before doing alot of shoping.

I'm about 13 weeks and just started doing some shopping. I plan to buy a couple things in each size up to about a year, just so I have a base of stuff. We plan to find out what we're having, but since this is my first, I would like a bit of neutral stuff for the next one(s)...so that's what I'm getting now. I hope to (and have heard that you do) get a lot of thebasic stuff at my shower -- I know a lot of people like to give clothes and stuff like that then....so I wouldn't get a whole lot of clothes until after your shower!

I've got a ton of stuff for our lil one already. I only have one or two diaper shirts that are 0-3 months, the majority of the stuff i have is 3-9months. I don't see the point in buying newborn stuff and 0-3 months, considering how quickly babies grow. I'd rather have something a wee bit large, that she can grow into, rather then something she can only wear once.

I DO KNOW ALL NEWBORNS REALLY NEED IS SOFT LAYETTE. SLEEPERS AND ALL-IN-ONE OUTFITS ARE USUALLY ALL THE NEED AS FAR AS DRESS-UP OUTFITS. I MEAN I DID MAKE THE MISTAKE AND BUY CHRISTIAN TONS OF SHOES, COMPLETE SETS, DENIM, ETC. WHICH HIS LITTLE BODY DIDN'T EVEN REALLY NEED. MOST OF THE TIME HE WAS HOME ANYWAY. HE ONLY WENT TO THE DOCTORS FOR THE FIRST FEW MONTHS. THEY SLEEP ALL THE TIME ANYWAY. ALOT OF PLACES HAVE THE NEWBORN STARTER SETS WHICH GIVE YOU ALOT FOR YOUR MONEY. OF COURSE, ONSIES, BOOTIES, SOCKS, CAPS, MITS, ETC. BUT THAT SHOULD BE GOOD. I THINK FANCY OUTFITS SHOULD ONLY BE WORN IF REALLY GOING SOMEWHERE.

CONNIE... They can guess towards the end but it really is just a guess. My Doc thought Lexi was going to be 5 or 6 lbs and she turned out 8lbs.

When I was pregnant with my son I had purchase a several items in newborn. The problem with this is that when he was born newborn clothes where to small so I had my husband take back the clothes to get 0-3 months. My son is now 2 1/2 (well be 3 in February) and wears 4T.

I am pretty much set for baby clothes for my daughter upon her arrival just from the items that I recieved at my baby shower. Everyone who came seem to bring clothes which was great. To be on the safe side I would purchase no less the 5 footed sleepers and a couple packages of t-shirts. My son was mainly in footed sleepers or onesies of the first couple of months. I didn't really put him in an outfit until he was in 3 - 6 months.
