I think it's our own choice. I adore seafood, but i've sworn off it since i've become pregnant. There's too high of a risk and I don't want to take it. Fish will still there when my lil ones pops out, so I can wait till then (only a few more days heh heh).

I actually ate a lot of tuna (almost 2 to 3 x week) with my 2nd pregnancy and my baby is fine. Now I'm totaally craving raw tuna. my fave are seared ahi tuna and tuna tartare. yumm! i cant get enough of them but since its not only fish but raw as well, i limit it to about twice a month. oh well ...

i had tuna last night. lol it was good.. i dont like fish allt hat much, especially tuna but i love it with elbow mac noodles .. so good. if women can drink wine during pregnancy, and we still smoke, i dont think tuna is gonna be the worse thing we could do.

Since y'all were confessing the other day here's mine on this post; I eat fish whenever I feel like it. My whole theory is that if my doctor didn't want me to eat it then she should have given me a book of do's and dont's of eating when I came in and she determined I was pregnant. I mean, not everyone has the internet to look this stuff up. How do people without internet who don't catch the news on this stuff know that fish isn't good when you're pregnant?? As a matter of fact, I am eating a tuna sandwich right now and it is good. :) LOL!

You make a good point. Whenever I get too worried about something, I try to remind myself that I live in a very technological age, and that even though women didn't know to not do this or to do that years and years ago, there were still healthy babies born every day. Personally, I think we know too much about things that don't mean much sometimes.

I give up. Every time I think I know what is ok and not ok it changes. I did know that it was ok to eat small fish, but not large fush like tuns. I guess it is because big fish eat small fish and that makes the mercury levels higher. I didn't know about the lunch meat thing though adn I eat lunch meat all the time.

Well the only type of fish that I eat is Tuna so I am not to concerned. When I was pregnant with my son I ate alot of Tuna and he was fine. I think everything is like the medicine bottle that say if pregnant consult your doctor. It's more of a precaution measure then anything. So as for the fish I think it's not so much the fish itself then it is the mercury level in some of the fish.
