hiya guys, i have a DILEMA.
i have anorexia blah blah blah, but my stomach is not flat!
and i know what y'all are thinking yeah cos you have anorexia you cant see that it is flat, but it aint it always looks and feels bloated and even my mum has said to me. and i was like oh =[
and even though i am underweight its not flat HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!

you can get rid of all the fat in your stomach its physically impossible your rbain needs fat to carry on working.. so it stores some..

Hey! I know this an old post but I'll reply anyway because I think I know your problem.
I have had the same problem since I became anorexic & it's normal for anorexics to have this problem. It's not fat that's making it stick out it's only bloated due to gastrointestional problems. It's usually because since you don't eat much food when you do eat anything your body has trouble breaking down the food into small enough particles to digest it. SO you feel bloated even after eating a small amount. It might hurt too

Mizzy it is true that ppl with ana - their stomachs actualy bloat out. It's due to digestive problems

To get rid of a bloated stomach, do exersizes, like sit-ups, & others to tone stomach exersizes.... (: ... I think lol.. of a friend.

Yeah sith ups or crunches could help keep your gut in. I just thought of something esle - U could try chamomile or peppermint tea. they're both good for the digestive system. Diet drinks are bad coz they give u wind. U could also try massaging your stomach in a circular motion for about 20 minutes. It helps to get rid of gas & undigested food. Constipation could also make u bloated to so make sure u drink enough water & eat enough fiber. Also if u don't have enough protein, fluid could leak out of your stomach wall and cause bloating. this is why alcoholics get rounded bellys.

Ok first of all crunches and sit ups will only build muscle that makes your stomach stick out more. These are good for building muscle, but it actually does make your tummy bulge a bit and look thick. Your problem is due to bloating. Also if you are more of an apple shape then you are probably losing weight from all other areas first, and this is making your tummy a bit more obvious. However I dont think your tummy sticking out is the issue here. If you are indeed anorexic then maybe getting that under control should be your first priority. I am anorexic as well and a compulsive exerciser, but i am enrolled in an intensive Out Patient program. I fight the weight gain every day, but i have learned that eating and eating more often does really fuel my body and my workouts. The fear of gaining weight has lessoned as i eat and continue to exercise. i see now that i am not a huge whale after eating a sandwich(omg carbs) or a snack. Every step has been terrifying. I actually started to lose weight at first b/c I had become so lean and muscular that my body was using every bit of food and was burning it faster then i could eat it. If you want to have your body look a certain way then feed it. I know it's scary and you don't believe me( i still doubt people every day), but it does seem to be working. Think of it this way. Get into a program like i am in. Give it a couple of weeks. Eat the food and do moderate exercise(if you are not having heart issues etc) and see what happens. what is the worst thing that could happen? You gain a pound(terrifying, yes), but you have the option to stop and then lose the pound again which you know you are capable of doing. Just give it a try. I bet your tummy will go down w/in a few days. Mine did!

Crunches & situps should help for bloating coz they will tighten your stomach so it's less likely to expand when u eat or drink. Noooooo way it would make it stick out more. No way!! Yeah eating little & often helps too.

No it really does. Not b/c of fat but b/c muscle tends to bulk up and the thinner you are the more obvious it is. I forgot to mention i am a personal trainer as well. I mean if you literally have hanging skin or fat then doing crunches will help to tighten the area, but diet is what makes you have a flat stomach. You can do a million crunches and if you have a poor diet you still won't have a flat stomach. anyway, like i said, we should all be worrying about getting our health and ED's under control.
