So my boyfriends birthday is coming up and I wanted to get him a special gift. He is always talking about his pet chinchilla who died a few years back and how he wants to get a new one. I tought it would be a great idea to get him a new pet chinchilla. He knows a lot about them, but I've never owned one and don't know anything about them. I know they can be pricy but I was wondering if i could maybe get a ballpark figure of what I'll be spending on his birthday gift. I need to get the Chinchilla itself, plus a cage, bedding, food, etc. Does anyone have an idea on how much I'll be spending, just so I know how much I should save up. Thanks!

the chinchillas around here run from 100 - 175 dollars depending on color and age a good cage will run you(and this is for a good cage) about 75 dollars food depends on the amount as does bedding
if you call your local pet and supply store they should be able to give you an idea and alot of places will sell you a start up pack for cheaper than buying it all by the piece and some stores give you a discount if you buy the animal from them. please research where you are buying the animal from and make sure that it is reputable. ↑
