I love animals and before I had my children I worked with animals for almost six years. I have a Tonkinese, which is very jealous. I try and give her a cuddle and pat at night after I have finished my mum duties but if I leave my bedroom door open during the day while she is inside. I am guarenteed to find a wet patch on my bed. She has been desexed and is only two, any ideas anyone?

It sound like shes marking her territory what she feels is hers. I had a altered female cat as well who would mark in my female dogs bed. If the bed was where the cat could get to it, she would mark it! Being altered doesn't mean they wont mark territory or items they feel are theirs. I would suggest keeping the bed room door closed.

Thanks Lindalu, my husband is losing his patience with her. I try to keep the door shut but sometimes when the kids can't find me and they look in my room for me they leave my bedroom door open. I'll have to teach them about shutting doors!!!

Gellybean~ Once they start marking it is very hard to stop them. Have you tried some of the products they sell in the pet store? You know .....the kind that keeps animals away from areas you don't want them?

I have a question what side of the bed does she pee on.... yours...hubbies or in the middle? And does she have free run of the house? Also is she a nervous cat ?and finally is the house hold quiet or loud during the day?

i used moth balls they smelled nasty but the cats wont go near my bed

Thanks Lindalu, I'm going yo go to the petshop in the next week and see what products they have. My cat usually wees in the middle some times either side. I personally think that she is jealous i am busy with the kids. I had another child after we got her, so my time with her is very little although i do try i think she misses her time that i spent on her.

Yes she can go anywhere, except not my room or the kids room just in case she wees. The house is quiter when my eldest is at school. Whenever we have guests she hides.
