mmmm...nope can't say i've ever had that happen to me. is it like the feeling you get when the dentist freezes your mouth when doing fillings? i found this: Burning, tingling, or numbness of the lips or inside the mouth Date updated: December 01, 2006 Susan Van Houten, RN, BSN, MBA Content provided by Healthwise Changes in feeling inside the mouth may be caused by: Irritation of the mouth from rough or broken teeth or fillings, appliances, dentures, foods, or tobacco. Allergies to foods, medications, mouthwashes, denture base materials, or metallic fillings. Infection, such as thrush or cold sores. Nutritional deficiencies. A sore in or near the mouth. Other diseases, such as diabetes. A problem with a nerve or the nervous system. Continuing numbness of the tongue or other areas of the mouth can be a symptom of oral cancer and should be evaluated by a health professional. ↑ |

I once had Bells palsy that's when a certain nerve in the base of the spine becomes damaged. It can happen for any reason even a viral infection can cause the damage. When it became damaged my whole rite side of my face went paralyzed including the rite side of my tongue. The neurologist gave me steroids to aid with the healing and it did heal with in a week or two. So Irene its possible you could also have a form of nerve damage. ↑ |
