I love my kids, but I am sick of picking up after them. I know they are young right now, but all I do is pick up food off the floor constantly. Every time I turn around, there are toy trains everywhere. HELP!!!!!

The bad part about it, is they are always begging for food so my one year old can slap it around the house. Today, I walked away for 2 seconds to answer the phone and my 4 year old tore off 4 keys off the computer.

ha ha ha....yeah i have a wireless keyboard, so when I'm not using it i have to put it in a high place or Anika gets a hold of it!!! lol....and the mouse too....but I always make sure if i give Anika anything messy to eat, she sits in the highchair....or if she's just roaming around and wants a snack she gets a rice ckae or something that's easy to just sweep up!! lol....

My husband which is a pretty good dad and husband ( I might add), gets mad when there are toys in our bedroom or food on the floor and he will take out the vacuum as soon as he gets home, and that makes me feel like I haven't done anything all day long. But the truth is that I am constantly picking up after them and the house still looks like dog crap. I hope this phase will pass, but a friend of mine still cleans up after son that comes home in the summer between semesters at college and this scares me to death. I don't know if I want to go through all of this with another kid, I might just stop with two.

Sometimes he helps and sometimes he pretends to not hear me. Then I start threatening him and end up cleaning it up myself.

Uhhh.. Gotta make some rules Kimber. 1) ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD IN ANY BEDROOM. If they want to eat they have to sit, somewhere. 2) Mommy and daddy's room is not the kids room and they aren't allowed in there unless mommy or daddy are in there. 3) Buy a swiffer!!!! 4) It'll get better!! Not much, but it will. Mine are 3 and 5 and I don't even let them take juice cups in their rooms. I once found a juice cup under the dresser under the huge stuffed aligator that had fermented for 4 or 5 days, turned into cider and blew it's leak proof valve.. It was like cleaning tar off the floor... Thank God we have concrete and no carpet....

don't clean it up, let him trip and fall and hurt himself on one of his toys then tell him that if he had cleaned up his mess he wouldn't have hurt himself....lol....idk....i don't have a 4 year old yet, so i don't really know how they operate...maybe he won't care at all!! lol

dont give in you are instilling the values that last a life time right now when my daughters were one they were helping me pick things up and i haad the food problem so i got a little table for my living room and they can sit at it i also have dogs to clean up after them

Well, when you have a 1 yr old and a 4 yr. old there are a lot of challenges. The 1 yr old tries to get into the 4 yr olds food and the 4 yr. old gets mad and knocks him down. Then the 1 yr. old starts crying etc. etc. I have to separate them and keep the 4 yr olds food up high and the 1 yr old still manages to get food all over the floor with every feeding. And they are both picky about what they eat, so I feel tide down to the kitchen a lot. Anyway, that is my life.

I would just like to add that having one kid was a whole lot easier than managing two. But that is what I wanted and that is what God gave me. So we will make the best of it. Though it is hard sometimes.

Colin is the messies damn eater you ever wanted to see. When he was in a high chair I bought a vinyl tablecloth and put it under the high chair. After he ate, I would take out the back door shake it out and the floor was great. But he only EVER gets to eat at the table in HIS chair...

Sounds like a good idea as long as you don't start attracting little critters around the house.

My neighbors dog would be over here in a heart beat.

Well, you won't if you clean it off everytime he eats... Shake it out and wipe off any sticky stuff, it is still alot better than cleaning the whole damn floor...
