Don't worry Rhonda. I had to wake my son up to feed him right from day 1. He also slept through the night @ 2 weeks old. I thought there was something wrong too. Your little lady will wake up when she's hungry.

for the first couple of weeks my daughter would go up to 5 hours sometimes w/out eating which had me really worried too. i had prepared myself to be up at least every 2 hours. i think what she's doing is pretty normal.

Hi Rhonda---Sorry to butt in. My daughter did the same thing. It's normal. They eat when they want too. Try not to worry about it too much. When she's hungry, she'll let ya know. Although, if your nursing, it does make your boobs full, pump the milk out if you can. I know I had too. I thought my boobs were going to explode if she didn't eat when I needed her too.

I wouldn't worry about it. She will wake up when she is hungry. My daughter will eat every 2 to 6 hours depending on the time of day and how long she had been awake during the day.

i was worried about that too with Anika. it seemed like all she wanted to do was sleep and never eat. and when i did feed her, she'd fall asleep on my boob. lol....but she was gaining weight good so the doc said not to worry too much. only if she hasn't hadn't eaten in like 4 hours max then to try and feed her, but if she wanted to sleep, let her sleep. also what i did was while i was feeding her, I'd massage my breast, kinda like you do when you're hand expressing.....that way it gets the milk out faster so baby can get more quicker before she fell asleep again. It also kept her awake longer, cause she'd be too busy trying to swallow all the milk!! lol....tricky tricky!!! i wouldn't worry about it too much!!! also, and I'm sure you remember this, but you can tell if she's getting enough to eat, if she's wetting anough diapers. 6 good wet ones in a 24 hour period is good!! good luck and congrats..can't remember if i congratulated you yet!!! yippee!!! :-)
