no I find my self smoke wile I am home board too especally sitting at the computer just sitting reading typing, I smoked abit, but still the same as then, like I have most the pack in one full day gone but still in 2 days it will be gone, I dont think that makes us bad parents but no no no it does not mean we don't deserve our childeren. I am only 19 but does that mean I don't deserve my child because I am young and I smoke I don't think so!

You guys are ridiculous! You know some women smoke crack while they are pregnant too, and not all the babies are born with problems. Also some women drink alcohol through out their pregnancies too and end up with healthy babies. Just because some can smoke ciggerettes and end up with healthy babies doesn't mean the side effects aren't there. This is damn ignorance to say that the babies will be fine. What you are doing is gambling with their lives!!!!!! I know for a damn fact that smoking while pregnant can cause serious damage. So you can full yourselfs all you want and I do pray that all your babies are born healthy with no problems. But please be a little more realistic and stop saying "I know someone who smoked and her babies are fine!". You sound like a bunch of children.... "I know someone who jump off a bridge and they were fine!"......You know what, I know someone who drank while they were pregnant and their baby (thank God) was fine. But that doesn't make it right or a fact that, that's what's going to happen everytime now does it????

hey someone told her up there that the baby can go thru withdraw I don't know what that is in babys unborn (would it be different than babys born) I don't want that that isn't good either. What do I do for that?

how do you say your fine tara that your mom smoke 2 pkts day, you are not fine honey, because if you were fine you wouldnt be smoking either now, what your mother did somiking during pregnacys passed it on you you, needing it from then,
i think that when a mother finds out shes pregnant she has to stop smoking, why should a baby growing inside ones body have to be forced to inhale or that disgusting tobaco, how can you sit here and tell me its fine!!!

to jackie, no i started smoking 6 months before i concieved. i am 21 years old. my mother also hasnt smoked for 15 years. i didnt get that from her. it was a personal choice i made. i have has 2 biophysical profiles, look it up and see what they are. my child scored 9 out of 10 both times, it also checks their lungs. i am not worried at all.

Hey Sabrina honey, I would talk to your doctor and tell him about what you heard with the babies having withdrawls. I'm sure he can suggest a method to wean yourself off of ciggerettes where it won't harm you or your baby. Be strong and do this for your little one.

I would just keep cutting back slowly dont quit cold turkey though that could be worse for your baby, because of the fact that he/she is used to getting it. I knew a girl once who smoke through her pregnancy and her doctor told her not to quit cold turkey because it would be bad for the baby to ease off gradually. It's hard being a pregnant smoker i'm sure..just when i buy my mother in law cigs and i'm preggo you should see the looks i get from people, and i dont even smoke.

hey ashley, lol i thought of another crazy idea again,
next time you go buy cigarettes for your mother inlaw,
get a tshrt screen printed saying, STOP LOOKING, THEY ARENT MINE!

and wear it for that occasion lol..

if you say you quit before you obviously didnt your pregnant your baby could end up with so many different things wrong how do you think you will feel then think about the baby not your self you only have to wait for nine months
Hope i helped

I used to smoke too. The secret is to really want to quit for life for yourself. I still fight cravings but I remember I don't want to die. I've quit a few times they say the avarage smoker quits seven times before they quit for good. check out the american association of lung cancer for rewards of quitting. Take advantage of the fact that they make you sick unless you like being sick

It is not true about baby going into shock. quitting anytime will definently benefit the baby. Where did you get that info? I need a reliable source to go to. Don't try to justify your smoking you know it is bad and there are many studies linking smoking to cancer. I could site a thousand sources. how about you?

Name: nora | Date: Feb 28th, 2006 11:01 AM
just quit, everytime you feel like one eat it instead and see what your feeding yourself and your baby...

I want to see statistics of all these babies that were killed by their mothers smoking while pregnant. Just because you were able to quit or just dont smoke you have no right to come down on moms who do. Until you can show me all these facts then I suggest you keep your statistics to yourself. Babies do not go through cigarette withdrawals, dont believe that. Thats for babies born to crack addicts. These woman dont know how to back up there facts.

Where are you facts? you didn't site any sources
