Have any of you ever successfully given up smoking?
I've got one of those sucky nicotine things to help relieve the cravings. It seems to work.
I've never smoked whilst pregnant, but started again a few weeks after each delivery.
Any tips anyone???? ↓

| If you find a way, let me know. I quit smoking everytime I was pregnant, but started up again after. After Alexis I didn't smoke for almost a year. With Megan I started when she was a month old. I don't smoke around the kids or my family. My mother would kill me if she found out I started again. Hey, maybe with her moving in here I will have to quit!!! ↑ |

My husband HATES smoking and I don't do it when he's around and NEVER in front of him.......but I do sneak around the side of the house if he goes to the shops or is upstairs!!!!!!!!!!! I can only manage a few drags then I have to rush back into the house, brush my teeth and make a cup of coffee!!!!!!!!!!! *LOL*
Trouble is, he knows that I do it!!!!!!!!!! *LOL* ↑ |

| my mum and dad were both smokers...im the only one in my family who smokes....my mother and father both quit cold turkey..my mother 25y ago and my father about 10y later...i think he got sick of my mother telling him he stinks!...ex smokers are the worse whingers. ↑ |

I get so narky if I don't have one and sometimes I'm sooo desperate, but I can't just nip out and light up..........that's why I've bought this sucky thing. I don't want to stop. I just want something to help me cope when I can't have one! Does that make sense???

| When I was still working on the ambulance one of the e.r. docs, wrote my partner and I a RX for that thing. We both chewed on it!! That was it. It didn't work for me. My thing is not the nicotine, When I go over night with my mom, I don't crave it. It is when I am at home and someone calls me then I go out to the garage. My husband just quit smoking before Christmas and he is doing awesome!! But then again he isn't with the kids 24/7 ↑ |

Well.....I smoke outside. Sometimes he will come out and sit with me when I have a cigarette. But he bats at the air and stuff.
I wouldnt light up if he were sitting out there first and I went and joined HIM. But if he comes up to me while Im smoking I dont put it out.
If my daughter comes out, cigarette goes out. I usually try find a moment while shes busy playing ↑ |

I have really cut back lately. It used to be if my husband and I had to talk about something we would go to the garage and have a cigeratte, but since he quit we don't do that. But, yesterday I think that I only had 5 the whole day. That is not to bad. ↑ |

haaha my hubby is a non-smoker too...he knows better than to question my habit...too many arguements...i dont endanger his or our kids lives...so his only arguement is my health...which is something i already know :-(
strange thing is ...i can go hours without one if forced to...like in hospital...but if i can smoke ...im out there trying to fit a couple in at a time...sort of like binge smoking! ↑ |
