I recently lost over 50 pounds and I never could have done it back when I was working. SAHMs do the shopping and the cooking, so we have the most power to make healthy choices.

All I did was change my day time eating to be healthier - mostly veggies, fruit, and few low-cal processed foods. Then I eat a normal dinner with my family. I don't feel hungry and I don't feel deprived and I've had HUGE success.

I've written my whole story with tips for other SAHMs that want to do the same as me on my website: justamomha.com

I hope you'll check it out!

I am a SAHM of a 8 and 6 yr old and our diets are what I consider very healthy. We eat no red meat we eat only turkey, chicken, and fish. We also eat alot of fresh vegetables especially during the summer. I was involved in a car accident on Mar 28, 2008 as of Jan 09 I had my cervical spine fused, which limits the types of exercises I can do now. Plus I have been diagnosed as having a significant disability in my L-arm. I am trying to lose weight but with all my problems I am finding it very difficult. The most I have found that I can do so far is a stationary bike and treadmill. I am open to all suggestions. Thank you in advance.

Last year I lost 24 pounds and 22 inches in about 9 weeks...still eating the same foods I love but cutting my portions in half and eating 5 times a day.

I drove to UT to meet the formulator of a new product and was told that when we eat...our body's burn that food for fuel for the first couple of hours and then the third hour it burns stored body fat.

So I have what I call happy hour 5 times a day. I always move a little more during that hour and I try to make my mind more conscience about weightloss and what I want to look like.

So now I use a product that keeps my body in a good ph balance.

I bought a Nintendo DS and the Yoga and Pilates and have managed to reach my before birth weight in less than five months seeing how my daughter just turned five months.
