I got my Mooncup this morning! :-D

I haven't taken it out of the box yet! I guess I'll have to practise using it before Auntie Flo visits again! *LOL*

Na, it's okay. You fold it up to get it inside. It's kind of funnel shaped. The tube is a bit uncomfortable - I'll have to trim it. It says in the info. that some woman cut it off completely. I haven't tried removing it yet. I think you just push it to one side a bit and the seal releases. You then ease it out.

The suction is quite strong. I got cramps in my uterus after I'd put it in. They're wearing off now. I do have an IUD, so that might have something to do with it.

ok

The inside bit is comfortable, it's just the tube that's digging in a bit. I'm gonna trim it.

I have ordered some washable panty liners from the internet, but they haven't arrived yet :-( The site has probably nicked my money and won't send me them! Serves me right for being so disgusting!!!!!! *LMAO*

what are iuds like? Im going to have one after the baby comes. I cant go on the pill because of my anti-convulsants, I may be able to have the implant though. Im not sure now. How long do iuds last? is it 3 months? or did i dream that? and when you take them out...can you ttc straightaway?

Do they muck up your body? i wouldnt have thought so...they arent hormonal are they?

I had a IUD in the early eighties...It was left in for 6 years...But wasnt supposed to be left in over 2 or 3 then. oops:( andyhow it took me 2 years to get PG with my 2nd child...I imagine they are better now days...I like the idea that you get it and forget it..

i might threaten paul if he annoys me...with inserting it in his rectum while he sleeps. that would be funny haha...

spose if you fold it...it wouldnt be so bad.

hmm...I want one...are they painful to "fit" if thats the right word? Do you need to remove them for mri scans etc??

Name: Layne | Date: May 31st, 2007 2:01 PM
when they removed it I didnt feel a thing though.

Name: Layne | Date: May 31st, 2007 2:02 PM
well Im not sure I think metal and plastic...Atomic probibly knows the latest...It was 20 years ago for me so they may have changed.

I love my IUD. I don't have any problems with it at all. It's my second one. I had my first one removed and I became pregnant 6 weeks later, so that's pretty good :-D

The Mooncup is easy to remove. The suction is pretty fearsome though! *LOL* I could get used to it! No more worrying about how many tampax I have to buy in and worrying about when I'm due on.

It's easy to get in. It doesn't go up as far as a tampon.

Welli got plenty of time to think about it anyway.

Name: Nicolaaa | Date: May 31st, 2007 2:05 PM
do you wear it constantly? or just when "aunt flo" visits?

Name: Layne | Date: May 31st, 2007 2:05 PM
They showed it to me when they removed it...I was a bit suprized to see what it looked like...I thought show can that prevent those little suckers from getting in. hehehe... But I worked like a charm for me...I do know some women dont have luck...But again it was a long time ago so they surely have improved...

Mine is plastic with copper wire. I think they're all plastic now. I don't know much about the others. There's a few different kinds.

It doesn't really hurt to have it inserted. Get a doctor who's used to doing them. You get a tiny bit of cramp -it's a bit like having a smear test.

the iuds---
can you get them removed easily...a gp does it right? and do they need to remove them if you have an mri scan etc?

Name: Nicolaaa | Date: May 31st, 2007 2:07 PM
i think I saw one in sex ed class...but that was ages ago. and i was pregnant at the time! lol

Name: Layne | Date: May 31st, 2007 2:07 PM
